Today is the 13th May. Not just that though, it is also Brian Carroll, AKA Buckethead's birthday!

Buckethead is the music world's greatest enigma - since picking up a guitar at age 12 and putting on a Michael Myers-inspired mask and KFC bucket, he has released over 307 albums, worked with some highly prolific rock bands and artists, and all while keeping his appearance a mystery to the public.

Between 2000 and 2004 Guns'n'Roses recruited Buckethead to their ranks, which saw him play a number of shows with them and earnt him writing credit on Chinese Democracy, before he decided to do away with them as they were incapable of finishing their album or planning enough tours. Not long afterwards, Ozzy attempted to enlist Buckethead to play with him at Ozzfest, but after becoming annoyed that Buckethead would not take off his bucket, he decided against it. As well as this, Buckethead has collaborated with Les Claypool of Primus fame, and also auditioned for Red Hot Chili Peppers in '93.

Aside from his prolific music career though, not much else is known about Buckethead, however what little is known of him is pretty fuckin' neat. For example he is very good at the fine art of karate, is huge on Disneyland, and has also worked on the soundtracks to the two Mortal Kombat movies, Saw II, Last Action Hero, and The Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers movie.

Rock on, Buckethead.
