2019 has been a pretty big year for TTWAAR, in case you hadn't noticed. We celebrated our first year anniversary back in September, and as the the sun sets one more time on 2019 and we brace ourselves for the second decade of the 21st century, I am very pleased to say that 2020 should hopefully be an even greater success for TTWAAR.
We've got some pretty big plans in regards to how we do things for a start, namely where and how our content is distributed. For the most part the website has seen very little in the way of articles over the past year, with just over 30 posted in that time. This isn't so much an issue of laziness or lack of care as it has been a necessity, because throughout 2019 content has been posted to our Facebook page rather than the site in order to ensure a higher viewership while we try to build a bigger fan-base.
As it stands now we're currently posting 1-2 posts a day on Facebook, most of which are extremely lengthily in terms of text. These are almost always the On This Day posts, so the plan now is to start posting these essays to the website, and simply link the article along with a short and sweet description of that day's event. Our weekly posts like Rad Photo of the Week, Dinosaur of the Week, etc. will continue to post to Facebook and Instagram, however that's fine because those posts generally use bite-size info in them rather than full essays of text, which is what we want to be the focus of our social media posts now. Short and sweet on social media, long and...savoury, on the website. We may also begin bringing the weekly posts to the Twitter account, but given the Twitter page isn't performing as well as our other social media platforms, it'd kinda been pushed to the side for the time being whilst we focus on what's working. We'll come back for yoooou...
Going back to our weekly posts, the new year will see Wicked Wednesdays (RIP) being replaced by Cryptid of the Week, and alas, Planet of the Week shall also cease come early January, and from its ashes shall rise Robot of the Week. A lot of these posts have been pre-scheduled by a couple or so months too, which means there is then more time now to focus on even more TTWAAR-based content we wish to produce.
The plans for TTWAAR in the new year are more than just moving things around however, we have plans to do more with our Spotify, hopefully making a few more playlists other than our bi-monthly ban recommendations, there's plans to create some new branding for the site and page, and although it may not happen this year, there are plans for some video content, and perhaps even some podcasts. We have some ideas in the pipeline that are still being worked on, so who knows, maybe something will get released in 2020!
In closing though, we'd like to thank everyone who's supported TTWAAR so far and we hope you follow us well into the new year and beyond. We're currently seeing over 5,000 page visits a week on our Facebook page which is incredible, and we've noticed certain people who are always there commenting and liking our posts - don't think we don't notice you guys, we love ya! We've even had a few big names like our posts which has had us giggling like school girls a couple of times, and bizarrely one of our Instagram posts was liked by the Belgium Ticketmaster account. Weird.
One final thing, if you or anyone you know would be interested in creating content for TTWAAR, even if it's just a one off thing, hit us up! TTWAAR is currently run by a team of two, both of who work and have other commitments so don't always have time to put out as much content as we'd like to, I mean Christ, you have no idea how long it takes to research all of these god damn dinosaurs and planets and such, as well as proof read the posts and get them to a standard we're happy with. The reason TTWAAR was created was for two dudes to put out articles about stuff they thought was neat and that they hoped other people would find neat, and we would never shy away from other people joining us on that!
Peace out and have a happy new year hombres,
