Psychomania is a 70s British Horror Film starring Nicky Henson, Beryl Reid, George Sanders and Robert Hardy.
Tom Latham is the leader of a Gang called "The Living Dead". The gang partake in black magic, and following the suicide of each member of the gang, one by one they return from the dead and meet up at a secret location called "The Seven Witches. Soon after the Gang return to familliar hunting ground and continue to terrorise the locals, but this time now as an Undead Biker Gang.
Now tell me that does not sound like a bit of fun? Psychomania is honestly just a wonderful bit of viewing in my opinion. Lots of action, sombre guitar music, and some very very dreamy visual sequences. At time of release back in 1973 the film gained mixed reaction, but has since gone on to become a British-Cult Classic Horror. Watching now in this day and age the film may come across as dated, and yes it is that I wont hold back saying, however this all adds to the charm and charisma of the film. Its a little treasure hidden away in obscurity, but thankfully now has become one of those little must see gems of British Cinema. Its fun, silly but also quite gripping at times. I would highly stick this on any list of must watch films, even if its just to say you have seen it! BFI have relased a dual DVD/Blu Ray Edition of the film which can be picked up very cheap on Amazon. Failing that if you really dont want to fork out any of your hard earned cash just head on over to Youtube and watch it in all of its glory, albeit not HD quality. Anywho I hope some of you see this and check out this flick and appreciate it for what it is.
